May 26-30

At School:

Students wrapped up their swimming lessons! It was wonderful to see how much their skills improved over the past two weeks!

In Literacy: We started procedural writing by brainstorming topic ideas and getting started on our rough drafts.

In Math: We continued practicing how to simplify fractions and how to convert between fractions, decimals, and percentages. We also worked on solving real-life problems involving percentages.

In Art: We started creating 3D Doodle Bugs!

In Social Studies: We explored the history of early settlers in Alberta.

In Science: We began our unit on Plant and Animal Structures. Students learned what an organism is and worked together to classify various local organisms based on their appearance, habitat, and physical structures. We also planted beans!

Looking Forward:

Look out for a letter in your child's backpack regarding our upcoming Settlers and Suitcases Project in June.

Students came home today with their materials from our Fractions, Decimals and Percentages unit. The end of unit assessment will be on Tuesday.

Messages from School:

Moving and Planning for 2025-26

If you have moved or are planning to move over the summer months, please notify the school as soon as possible with your new address.

For students attending a new CBE school for the fall please ensure the school knows and Transfer Forms have been completed.

Outstanding Fees

There are still some outstanding fees in student accounts.

Please log into your CBE Account to ensure your account is cleared for this school year.

Outstanding fees will remain on accounts moving into next year.

Transportation for 2025-26

Transportation Registration is now available through your CBE Account.

Families must register each year if they require busing for their student.

Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.

CBE will accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed.

Confirmed routes are posted in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.

Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025. Fees will be added to accounts in October 2025.

Grade 3 and The Calgary Bridge Foundation

On Thursday June 12, the Grade Three students at our school will be hosting a fundraiser in support of the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, which supports newly arrived immigrants and refugees.

They will be selling various student-handmade items for $2. There will also be lemonade and cookies available for purchase.

If you would like your child to participate, please send money with them and we will help them select their items to purchase.

Thank you for all of your support!
