June 16-20
At School:
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Grade 4 Farewell on Friday—it was wonderful to celebrate together!
In Math: We explored the geometric properties of polygons and learned how to classify triangles by their angles and side lengths.
In Literacy: Students wrote a paragraph about why they are a star. They reflected on their unique strengths, accomplishments and positive qualities. This activity encouraged self-awareness and helped students celebrate what makes them special! Also, we are currently writing a procedural piece called How to Escape from an Alien Planet.
In Social Studies: We are working on our Settlers and Suitcases heritage project. Students designed their own suitcases and added personal photos with captions inside.
In Wellness: We discussed the changes that occur during puberty and explored healthy ways to cope with them.
In Art: Students created their own personal star to showcase at our Grade 4 Farewell on Friday!
Looking Forward:
*We are planning a Community Walk on Monday, June 23 to mark National Indigenous History Month and the summer solstice. During our walk, we will visit a Sit Spot to observe our surrounding. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
*Sports Day is on Tuesday! Students will be participating in outdoor activities in the morning, so please ensure they are dressed for the weather, wearing proper running shoes, and bring a water bottle.
*On Wednesday, we will be walking to the park with our Kindergarten buddies one last time!

Messages from School:
Grade 3 and The Calgary Bridge Foundation
On June 12 & 13, in conjunction with their study of global citizenship and their Social Studies curriculum, the grade 3 classes once again sponsored an Art and Lemonade Sale to raise money for charity.
MTS students brought in their toonies to purchase lemonade, cookies, sunflowers and an assortment of crafts created by our grade 3 students.
We are thrilled to say that we raised $3692.00 through the sale! Over the last 3 years, we have raised almost $9000!
The proceeds will be donated to the Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth, an organization that supports immigrant and refugee youth and their families with knowledge and information about Canadian culture and school system.
Thank you again for all your support!
Transportation for 2025-26
Transportation Registration is now available through your CBE Account.
Families must register each year if they require busing for their student. If you are uncertain if your child is taking the bus in September, it is best to register now and cancel before September 30.
Families must register by this Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
CBE will accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed.
Confirmed routes are posted in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025. Fees will be added to accounts in October 2025.
