June 2-6
At School:
In Math: We wrapped up our Fractions and Percentages unit and began exploring Geometry and Angles. Students reviewed their understanding of right, obtuse, and acute angles, as well as polygons and their geometric properties. We went on a scavenger hunt around the school to find and identify various angles, shapes, and lines in the real world.
In Literacy: We revised, edited, and published our procedural writing pieces, focusing on clarity and organization. We also continued to develop our skills in comparing and contrasting by examining similarities and differences between two topics.
In Science: We investigated the external structures of plants and animals, such as stems, leaves, fur, and beaks, and examined how each structure plays an important role in helping the organism survive, grow, and meet its basic needs.
In Social Studies: We continued learning about early settlers in Alberta and deepened our understanding of treaties by researching key facts, answering questions, and completing a map activity that showed the different treaty areas across the province.
Looking Forward:
Settlers and Suitcases homework is due back on Thursday, June. 12th.
*We are going to the zoo on Tuesday! Please ensure your child has a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and a healthy lunch. Thank you to our parent volunteers who are joining us!

SPORTS DAY Volunteers Needed
This year, Sports Day will take place on Tuesday, June 24 with two sessions:
Morning Session: 9:00-10:30 AM (AM Kinders, grades 3 and 4)
Afternoon Session: 1:00-2:15 PM (PM Kinders, grades 1 and 2)
We have 22 stations this year, so we'll need lots of hands on deck. Volunteers will meet in the gym at the start to receive instructions on setting up, running stations, and returning equipment to the gym afterward. Mr. V. will provide all necessary equipment and an instruction sheet for each station.
Morning volunteers should plan to be at the school from 8:20 to 10:45, and afternoon volunteers from 12:20 to 2:30.
Only those who have been cleared in the office can volunteer for this event.
Here is the link below if you would like to help.
Moving and Planning for 2025-26
If you have moved or are planning to move over the summer months, please notify the school as soon as possible with your new address.
For students attending a new CBE school for the fall please ensure the school knows and Transfer Forms have been completed.
Outstanding Fees
There are still some outstanding fees in student accounts.
Please log into your CBE Account to ensure your account is cleared for this school year.
Outstanding fees will remain on accounts moving into next year.
Transportation for 2025-26
Transportation Registration is now available through your CBE Account.
Families must register each year if they require busing for their student.
Families must register by Sunday, June 22, 2025 for students to be added to routes for the start of the next school year.
CBE will accept registrations after the deadline; however, students are added to the closest existing bus stop with available space. Processing times for registrations submitted after the June 22 deadline will be delayed.
Confirmed routes are posted in August. For those who register after the June 22 deadline, it may take until mid-October before your child is able to ride the bus.
Transportation can be cancelled with no financial impact by submitting the cancellation form by Sept. 30, 2025. Fees will be added to accounts in October 2025.
