At School: It was a busy week filled with practice and preparation for our Orange Shirt Day Assembly. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend today! We learned about long vowels and digraphs, and practiced writing the cursive letter “q.” We also read a story inspired by Orange Shirt Day called  Shi-shi-etko , which follows a young girl preparing to go to residential school by collecting special items for her memory bag to help her remember home. We brainstormed what we would include if we made our own memory bags, and the students completed an activity in their visual journals based on this idea. We practiced figuring out how many hours have passed between a start time and an end time.
