September 22-25

In School:

We met with our Kindergarten buddy class for the first time today!

In Math: We kept practicing how to tell time, and the students made their own clocks.

In Literacy: Students wrote about their weekend and practiced a new cursive letter. We also began reading a novel together titled How to Be Cool in Third Grade.

In Social Studies:  We began our discussion about Orange Shirt Day by reading a story and exploring the reasons we honor this important day. We are also learning the Land Acknowledgment, reflecting on how we connect to the land, and students created drawings to represent their ideas. We also created hearts for our Orange Shirt Day Assembly.

We are getting ready for our Orange Shirt Day Assembly, scheduled for next Friday, September 26th, in the gym. Your child may bring home their part to practice next week. Some of the words can be challenging to pronounce. To help with practice at home, here is a website where you can click on the words and listen to an elder pronounce them.
