September 8-12
At School:
Thank you to all the parents who joined us for Open House on Thursday evening! It was wonderful to meet so many of you in person.
This morning, we participated in our annual Terry Fox Run. The students showed great spirit and determination as they ran in honor of Terry Fox’s legacy.
In Math: We reviewed subtracting two-digit numbers and started learning about telling time. Students explored the concepts of A.M. and P.M. and practiced reading minutes past the hour on analog clocks.
In Literacy: Students wrote about what they know about Terry Fox and then used their imaginations to create “Unbelievable Summer” stories. We also talked about independent reading goals and practiced together as a class. This week’s cursive letters were a and d! Please check your child's backpack for the letter they wrote you in their red exercise books.
In Social Studies: We studied maps, learned the different parts, and the students even made their own map of our classroom.
In Art: We completed our “All About Me” posters — they turned out fantastic!
