At School: This week, we refocused our attention on classroom routines and expectations. Students reviewed and practiced telling time on an analog clock and took part in a variety of fun Halloween-themed activities. We listened to a Halloween story and made text connections by comparing and contrasting ourselves with the main character. Students also completed a directed drawing in their visual journals and worked together to complete some literacy and numeracy activities as well. We also went on the computers for the first time this year! Everyone did a fantastic job logging in and exploring engaging math and coding games that helped reinforce number sense and problem-solving skills.  Please note: Students did not write a letter to home this week due to Halloween activities. You can expect them again starting next Friday! Upcoming Dates: November 4                 PICTURE DAY!!! November 10-12          Fall Brea...

At School: We had a busy but fun-filled short week! Coach Greg from Alien Inline Skating came to teach the students how to rollerblade. The kids were excited to try something new, and I’ve already seen great progress in their skills. We continued practicing how to tell time, and the students enjoyed creating cute Halloween-themed projects while working on two-digit addition with regrouping. We also added a personal touch to our visual journals by creating colorful name graffiti art for the covers!  Students wrote about their long weekends and sent Friday letters home, helping them practice their writing skills. They also learned a new cursive letter—the letter “c”.
